Comprehensive Financial Planning

Elain and Robert are both engineers with a local software company. With young children and hectic schedules, their investment portfolios had taken a back seat to their busy lives. Over the years their portfolios accumulated multiple accounts at different brokerage houses and mutual fund groups with no coordinated strategy or clear direction.

We met with Elain and Robert to review their goals and long-term plans. We then proceeded to design a long-term investment strategy that incorporated diversification, discipline, and tax-efficiency. We consolidated their old 401(k) plans, provided recommendations on existing stock option plans, harvested tax losses in their portfolios. We rebalanced their portfolios to provide for their cash flows needs both now and in the future.

We learned that Elain and Robert had estate planning documents that at this time were no longer effective considering the latest changes in the tax laws and the increase in their net worth. They had insufficient life insurance in the event that Elain or Robert were to die prematurely. We referred Elain and Robert to an estate planning attorney at a local law firm. We worked closely with their insurance broker to move forward with new life insurance policies.

In this and other situations, Wealth Builders provided coordination and integration between experts in estate planning, insurance and other important areas of financial planning. Since we took over the responsibility to review on an ongoing basis, the important aspects of their finances, Elain and Robert worry now less and focus instead on their family and their careers.

Note: Elain and Robert are not actual clients, but their case is presented here as an illustration of our services.
